Solstice Rock Guides offers a variety of programs that are designed to
offer the beginner a challenging Introductory Course and the experienced Climber
a more Advanced Course. Depending on your needs we have the course that will
help you reach your desired goals. We offer all necessary personal equipment
needed ie: rock harnesses, helmets, and rock shoes.

Solstice Rock Guides offers group programs designed to met the specific
needs of your school or agency. These tailor-made courses can last from one
- two days. Please contact the Program Director to discuss this opportunity.
ROCK 1 - INTRODUCTION
TO ROCK CLIMBING - 2 DAYS
The introductory course will allow the beginner rock climber to experience
the sport for the first time. The course content includes: crag safety,
equipment familiarization, knots, top roping, movement on rock, belaying and
rappelling. This course takes place over two days, and utilizes two
different locations.
ROCK 2 - ROCK CLIMBING
COMPLETE - 3 DAYS
This course takes place over three days. It is designed to introduce the
beginner to the sport, as well as to teach skills that will enable the
individual to feel confident setting up top ropes utilizing natural and
fixed anchors. Other items covered include crag safety, equipment
familiarization, knots, top roping, movement on rock, belaying and
rappelling.
ROCK 3 - ADVANCED
ROCK CLIMBING - 4 DAYS
Have you been top roping for awhile now, and would like the opportunity to
lead climb? This is the course for you. We cover both natural and sport
placements. Other skills included are: belaying a lead climber; hanging
belays from a fixed station; belaying from a fixed station; and multi-pitch
climbing. This course takes place over two weekends and utilizes at least
two different locations.
